Healthy Classroom Party Ideas for Student Wellness

Classroom celebrations have long been a tradition of cupcakes, cookies, chips, and/or candy.  These special occasions can fit school Wellness Policies by including healthy choices. Fresh fruit and vegetable trays w/low-fat dip, whole grain cookies and crackers, and baked chips are healthy additions to these festivities.  The continuous presentation of healthy foods during classroom celebrations give students the opportunity to make healthy food choices and ultimately acquire good eating habits.  

Please remember that all food items must be store bought prepackaged items.

Healthy food choices:
Vegetable Tray w/Low-fat Ranch Dressing
      Rolled Ham or Turkey & Cheese Slices
      Baked Tortillas w/ Salsa
      Whole Grain Crackers w/Cheese Cubes
      Celery with Cream Cheese and Raisins (Ants on a Log)
      Fresh Fruit w/Yogurt Dip
      Fruit & Cheese Kabobs
      Pretzels, Baked Chips, Low-fat Popcorn
      Whole Grain Cookies
      100% Frozen Fruit Cup 

To Drink:
      100% Fruit Juice
      Low-fat/Fat Free Milk
      Sparkling Punch (seltzer water and 100% fruit juice)
