Forest City Regional School District strives to ensure that all students achieve their highest level of critical thinking an creativity. In support of this mission, Gifted Educational Services offers learning opportunities to those students identified as gifted. The district recognizes that these individuals exhibit strengths in problem solving and/or thinking skills. This demands specialized instruction to foster divergent thinking which is abstract, complex and multifaceted.

 Gifted Educational Services accomplishes this by offering the following:

• Differentiated instruction in the regular classroom based in gifted students's needs and abilities;
• Flexible grouping;
• Specific blocks of time when students have the opportunity to gather in peer groups or individually, to study subjects and issues in depth and at higher levels of sophistication, integrating the use of technology; and
• Opportunities for acceleration.
